I attended a money management seminar held by Sunlife. Some of the handouts were very interesting to me and wanted to share them out to you. I have been looking around for some of these worksheets in order to help me manage my finances and budget better. I haven't tried them out yet but here they are: BudgetWorksheet-page1 BudgetWorksheet-page3 Here are some common mistakes we run into when managing our finances. There are 10 items mentioned here . And the most important one that we need to keep updated constantly is the statment of Net Worth Statement.

Kyle is 1 year old today - YAY!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KYLE. My kid is now 1 year old or 12 months old (as most parents say). Time certainly does fly so my motto has recently been to spend the most of it with family. I definitely don't want to screw up my kids upbringing and need to friggin pull it together.

Rich by thirty?

I'm reading this book - 'Rich by Thirty' a young adults guide to financial success by Leslie Scorgie. Its all about budgetting your money, making sure you pay off debt quickly, and save for retirement now. Borrowed it from the guildford library. Has lots of sample worksheets. Good book. Let me know if you want to borrow it.

Mama's heart surgery

We had a meeting today with Dr Pearce at Surrey Memorial Hospital just to review the treatment and update us on alternatives. We watched a couple of videos regarding angiograms, baloon angioplasty, angioplasty with stenting, and antheorectomy. They may use all these procedures when performing open heart surgery on Mama. The other more experimental procedure is called Transcatheter but is reserved for patients who are otherwise not able to go through open heart surgery. They didn't have a video of this procedure since it is new (introduced in 2005). This procedure is supposed to be less invasive in that it does not require your ribs to be cracked open. Since Mama has been given the ok for open heart surgery, the doctors at Saint Paul's hospital will probably push for this instead of transcatheter. Dr. Pearce showed us a copy of the angiogram results. I have it scanned but not sure if I should post it here. The results show that she has severe aortic stenosis and a graftable righ...

kyle's baptism - a story of miscommunication

Its been a couple of months now since we had kyle's baptism (september 21) and I still can't get over how the church administration and I did not connect on the correct date. Imagine arriving at the church with all your guests only to find out that the priests weren't expecting to perform a ceremony because it wasn't booked. From my point of view, we did everthing expected like attend the debriefing a month earlier, then submit the forms plus payment. A week before the baptism and I get a call saying that the Sept 21st date was not possible because father didn't run baptism ceremonies on the third Sundays of the month. At this point we had booked the reception and sent out the invites. After explaining the immovable date to church administration responsible for father's schedule, she said not to worry because she will ask father and make it work. It may have to be father's assistant but she'll make it work. That was it. I didn't have to call back to ...
